Last Friday , September 23rd a group of artists and would be artists alighted on the train at Waverley and travelled the Border Railway sketching all day . They stopped off at Newtongrange Mining museum to sketch and were given a presentation about the Dalkeith Museum and the repair and restoration of the Corn Exchange. They then stopped at Gorebridge to visit the Gorebridge Community Development Trust to see what they were doing regenerating the old part of the town.

The event was organised by the Scottish Government to celebrate the first year of the operation of the line and as part of year of Architecture , Innovation and Design .
