Dalkeith Corn Exchange Signature Cloth project. Following the discovery of two signature cloths in the Dalkeith Museum collection , we are launching a contemporary project to mark the new genesis of this historic building. The two signature cloths in Dalkeith Museum were created to raise funds for the war effort during the 1st world war and for a local cricket club in the 1920’s.

Taking inspiration from these our 2015 signature cloth will capture a moment in time with the signatures of key people involved in the Corn Exchanges redevelopment from Architect to construction staff,M.H.A staff and board members,Dalkeith History Society members and staff and volunteers from partnerhip organiations who contributed to the consultation process and activity plan.

Following a launch event on 28th April 2015 we recruited 6 enthusiatic volunteer stitchers to carry out the embroidery of our cloth and it is noe makeing good progress – you can follow the development via our facebook page .
